Race gas, for one. If you have time, buy an Apex S-AFC and have the car tuned on race gas at 17-19 lbs boost with advanced timing (by someone who knows what they're doing). My car with the same mods made 410 hp and 460 torque to the wheels, which is usually a little more than a stock viper (they make roughly 400 rwhp and 445 rwtq). Also, comparing dyno sheets, my car had a little better area under the curve. With a similar weight between the two vehicles, and if you had a slight jump or knew the exact shift points and drove well, you could take him.. It's just the initial instant torque of his versus your lack of instant torque (unless brake boosting) which might set you behind at first. I'd recommend going from a highway roll... the Coefficient of drag for those is terrible.. in the 0.50's. I haven't found a viper to race yet, but I pretty much walked an 03 z06 which is pretty close in performance. I'd imagine a viper would put up a slightly better fight.
